Microsoft Band Sync App Reviews
From a MAC OSX 10.11.2 (El Capitan) with latest patches at time of writing, I cannot login wit my Microsoft account. I did perform a password reset once but no joy, still the same issue. By reading other feedbacks on the Internet, it seems MAC OS X is not first priority for MS engineers: a shame… I’m a MS Band2 client, and although running OS X I think they are many people that are impacted. Now that hte Xmas freeze is over (almost) I hope it will get fixed. Thanks and regards, Pascal
Since installing the new version to go with my Band 2, I cannot login or connect to my Microsoft account. (my MS account works perfectly well when connecting to other MS services). I was very happy to get the new Band 2, it is a shame that the Mac sync software from Microsoft is at expected level of quality. Hopefully Microsoft will get this fixed soon.
App is simple but works. A few UI improvements are needed though. 1) Microsoft Band logo and charge icon isn’t retina-quality when the device image is. Strange. 2) Microsoft Band Menu Bar icon is colored, which looks pretty bad in Yosemite dark mode. Offer an option to make to make it black/white and/or responsive to Yosemite Dark Mode. 3) Menu Bar could probably offer show the last time the device was synced, otherwise the menu bar item just acts as a shortcut to open up the app.
It does sync w/ the band, tells you if the band needs an update (it just came out, so no, it doesn’t), and offers a few settings (fewer than the phone apps.) I suppose it does work. But the login screen was confusing (I had to close it the first time, since it just came up blank.) And the spacing of the text within the app reduces my opinion of the Microsoft brand overall… it seems like a very bad version of the (relatively elegant) modern/Metro style used in Windows, hastily constructed to offer the very minimal surface area it does offer.
Use the band as a fitness tracker, only. Band works just fine on bike rides, and thie interface app works nicely to get me synched through an iMac. Can now retire the HP tower to server land on the home network. The really interesting part is the web backend, not the interface app. Doesn’t do too much, like iTunes tries, and end up doing a mediocre job. Real joy not to have to deal with IE anymore, except in condensed tablet form.
Bugged Update
Ever since I installed, I am unable to sign into my microsoft account.
unable to sign in
“We’re having trouble signing in.” Does not bode well.
Does not login
This version is completely useless and will not even attempt to login.
I hope Microsoft is listening. Even though they said the currect version contains “bug fixes”, they’ve made it impossible to login from a Mac! It used to work fine. This version doesn’t work at all!
BUG Update
This new version will not me to access my account
Unable to Log into Microsoft Account
As every other account says, I cannot log into my Microsoft Account. El Capitan on an mid-2011 Airbook.
All Apple connectivity broken….
Since releasing the new updates to Mac and iPhone my Band 2 no longer sync’s and the app won’t connect to my account…. Great UAT Microsoft!!!!
I frankly don’t understand why people give such low reviews. The only explanation I can think of it’s because they do not read what features apps truly provide. If people, as educated as they think they are, were to really read what the app offers, they would have the option to either download or not the app, instead of just venting on a review what the app didn’t do. One suggestion to Microsoft is to allow people to take a picture or a snapshot of the issue so it can be resolved before a review is posted. Great job MICROSOFT!!!. You’re on the right path!!!
Useless
Won’t login… Microsoft needs to fix this
Even after resetting my password to my Microsoft account, it’s impossible to sign in on my IMac. The IPhone app works OK but the IMac does not work at all! It’s surprising that the Microsoft software engineers are incompetent!
Mac sign-on does not work anymore!!!
Why can we not sign in using the Mac app anymore???
Cannot Login...
After the update I was not able to login. BOOOOOOOO...
Don’t recognized band
After this update i can login using outlook account, but the app does not recognized the band
For peolple that gave this app 1, 2, 3 or even 4 stars the question you have to ask yourself is what do you want or plan to do with the OS X version of the Microsoft Band App? If you want to use the App strictly for syncing data between the Microsoft Band, Updating the Band Software, changing the background and color of the Band, or rearranging tiles and tile options, then this App is excellent and does exactly that. That’s all Microsoft claims this App will do. Nothing more, nothing less, read the description. However, if you were expecting this App to do everything the Microsoft Healthy App does on the iPhone, then you are going to be very disappointed. For example, you can add or remove tiles, just rearrange them. You can view any of your results (Steps, Calories, etc) in the App; however, the App provides a link to your online Dashboard. This App is a companion App for the Microsoft Health App not a replacement. As far as I’m concerned this App does exactly what it was designed to and and what Microsoft wrote in the App description. The newest version works seemlessly and I have not notice any bugs or glitches.
I’m not kidding, just click the Dashobard button and it will launch the Microsoft Health website. That said, I really love the Band 2 and thier website definitely gets the job done. Their iPhone app is fantastic too. As for this application - refer to title for a list of its major functionality.
